Working with Clients – Fit for Purpose Engagement

PsychSafe works with clients across varying levels of engagement, aligned to project purposes. Projects most often include multiple stages, so client engagement is both customised and dynamic, flexing depending on the project stage and as client needs change or mature.

As an overarching principle, we seek to leverage any existing client capacity, as well as help build capability where gaps exist and future client needs would be best met by having the necessary expertise in-house.

  • Expert Opinion / Review: Best for client work requiring a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a high degree of independence, including legally privileged projects (such as prosecution risk profiling and risk assessment).
  • Project Lead: We take the helm, coordinate project execution, and have accountability and responsibility for project deliverables  – while leveraging any existing internal expertise that might be available.
  • Project Partner: We work alongside internal expertise providing expert advice and support to bridge capability gaps, and flexibly sharing project deliverable accountability and responsibility. This level can also be more broadly scoped as an on-call retainer.
  • Capability Builder: We set our clients up for ongoing performance by building the internal expertise they need to succeed over the medium and longer-term – for example, by including train-the-trainer principles in uplift programs and co-facilitation approaches as appropriate.

1. Discovery: Our curiosity phase – we work closely with key stakeholders to build a robust picture of what our client is all about, including strengths to leverage, existing challenges, and predicted problems – effectively, we capture their Current State.

2. Direction: Our pathway-to-destination phase – we settle on the engagement level/s likely to be most beneficial moving forward, mapping out strategic imperatives, process milestones, and critical projects to bridge the gap between the client’s Current State, and their chosen Future State.

3. Doing: Our action stations phase – The PsychSafe team get to work, helping the client bring their Future State into reality.

1. Discuss: We listen to our clients, learn about their business objectives, and then link these objectives to strategy and action. Listen, learn and link.

2. Diagnose: We blend evidence with data – using our PsychSafe Diagnostics Kit to help identify priority action areas to focus on.

3. Develop: We develop a Roadmap that harnesses client strengths, recommends solutions to identified issues, and strategically frames the pathway forward.

4. Design: We create customised projects and capability building programs that meet our client’s specific needs; we don’t do ‘shrink-wrapped.’

5. Deliver: We work with key client stakeholders to execute Roadmap-relevant projects and programs effectively and efficiently.

6. Debrief: We monitor and evaluate implementation success, including objective achievement, internal and external benchmark reassessment, and ROI.
